Did you notice the many things at the back of the sanctuary just waiting to be found on this, the last day of our Treasures Sale? We’ve had quite a busy few days since Wednesday as many of you have sorted, priced, and arranged clothing, housewares, books, DVD’s, accessories, and more, in preparation for our fundraiser to help maintain and improve our church home. On Friday and Saturday, many came to peruse and purchase treasures, including plants, baked goods, and yummy hot dogs and shaved ice. Thank you for all of your support in so many ways. We could not have made this happen without our Wellspring community. Whether it be to drop off donations, bake brownies, cook a pot of hot dogs, concoct a rainbow shave ice, sort and size clothing, stand on the roadside advertising our sale, setting up, cleaning up, cashiering, and making every person who walked through our doors feel welcome, YOU made it especially meaningful and fun.

And…it’s not over. Today, after service, you will have a final opportunity to stop and shop. We will continue to sell all kinds of things at 50% off (except for DVD’s) until 3:00 p.m. You can also stay and purchase chili dogs, hot dogs, chips, cold drinks, and shaved ice! Stop to buy some baked goods too: brownies, butter mochi, cookies, breads, and more! All this will give you stamina to maybe stick around this afternoon and help us to close down and clean up at 3:00 p.m.

As we celebrate the success of this Treasures Sale, we want to give a shout out and heartfelt “thank you” to Anna Paro and her family who spearheaded this fundraiser! To Daisy Yoshimura and her bake sale team: thank you for such delicious treats! Horace and Doris, thank you for donating so many beautiful plants for sale today! It takes a village, doesn’t it?

While we still have not heard from Queen Emma regarding the increase in our land lease, we are not discouraged. On the contrary: while we sit in service today, some of us may be a little bleary eyed, and have sore feet and achy muscles from the few days past, but we are full of gratitude, for God’s provision and for each one of you.

“9 For we are God’s servants, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building.” 1Cor 3:9 (NRSV)

Blessings and thanks to each of you…..

Pastor Cheryl

Difficult times have always been an opportunity for the people of God to come together in new and fresh ways. I’m reminded of the story of the children of Israel in the books of Exodus and be-yond. Af
